8/9/07 - Night one
Well, he did awesome last night. He cried for all of 11 minutes until he passed out for the entire night. He decompresses from his day fast!!! We didn't hear a peep out of him until 5am. We let him cry for a few minutes to see if he would put himself quickly back to sleep. But, we didn't let him go long since we have to get him up about 6, we didn't think it would be fair to let him get himself to sleep and wake him up 20 minutes later or whatever. So, Anthony got him up and he was as happy as could be! ;-) He was obviously hungry too - drank 6 oz, very quickly. That is alot for my laid back little boy! I am VERY impressed! I feel this is one of those things that if done at an early age - he is the youngest they suggest - it would be easier than trying a few months down the road. This solution suggests that the pacifier and other sleep crutches run their course and aren't needed past 3 months old! I wrote a note to daycare about what we are attempting... my wonderful husband said they will just laugh at me, but oh well. From my point of view it will help him to nap, which he doesn't do well for them, so it will be better for all of us! Also, if I don't tell them what we are trying, how will they know?! They may just think - oh another one of THESE mother's. But, that is okay. If they go along with this plan we will all be rewarded with a well rested, good sleeping, happy Luke!
